Why is CBD great for your skin?

CBD oil and creams are beneficial for skin for numerous reasons. More and more studies are being conducted and proving its benefits and the results are exciting for its anti-aging and medicinal properties. But what sets our skincare apart from others in the industry is simply quality.

We believe that when this extract is infused into skin creams it is extremely effective in fighting wrinkles, minimizing sun damage, softening under-eye bags to providing relief for irritated skin.

Therefore, scientist have concluded that skincare products that target the endocannabinoid system are likely to be a fundamental element of next-generation skincare treatments.

Anti-Aging

CBD is proving to reduce the signs of aging but it has may other healing benefits. According to a study in 2010 in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, it revealed that CBD is an antioxidant even more powerful than Vitamin C, E, A, or omega 3 fatty acids, which are all also present in our CBD creams and oil. Protecting the skin from free radicals, like UV rays, smoke, and environmental pollutants, is critical in having younger looking skin. Free radicals in the atmosphere cause fine lines and wrinkles and antioxidants protect you from this damage.

Eczema

Atopic dermatitis, more commonly referred to as eczema has been shown to improve after using CBD oil. If you suffer from this irritating skin condition you know how uncomfortable it can be because it is often itchy, not to mention red and inflamed. It can also present as a rash that can spread. The skin does dry out significantly and may peel, flake or bleed. Preliminary research and user testimony leads to the conclusion that CBD has the potential to help eczema by reducing inflammation and by relieving itching.

Psoriasis

Like with eczema, researchers are unsure of the exact causes of psoriasis. Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes itchy, painful red patches on the skin. These red patches develop plaques, built up layers of skin. For some reason, the body begins to grow new skin cells more quickly than it can shed them. This causes irritating scaly patches to compile in various areas of the skin. Psoriasis is thought to be linked to problems with the immune system, specifically white T cells in the blood. Researchers have seen promise in using CBD to assist in the healing process.

Antibacterial agent

Bad bacteria is not good news for the body. In fact, many serious conditions, including gum, heart and intestinal diseases can develop if there is an imbalance. A study in 2008, “Antibacterial Cannabinoids from Cannabis Sativa” at del Piemonte University in Italy concluded that; the five major Cannabinoids, including CBD, showed potent activity against a deadly bacteria, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), a microorganism of great clinical importance.

Antioxidants

CBD is a powerful antioxidant, some believe it is even more powerful than vitamins A, C, and E in terms of combatting fine lines and wrinkles.

Antioxidants are key to preventing skin damage caused by free radicals. UV rays, smoke, and environmental pollutants are “free radicals” and your skin is exposed to them each and every day. It’s exposure to these free radicals that damage cells and cause your skin to look visibly older.

Fights inflammation

CBD is also a strong anti-inflammatory, which is a win, win when it comes to skincare to combat puffiness, especially under your eyes. Coupled with CBD’s potent antioxidant effects, the herb’s strong inflammation-fighting abilities make it a good potential treatment for skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.

Omega-3s

CBD contains omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. Not only do these healthy fats moisturize dry, dull skin, but when combined with other antioxidants it also protects your skin from the sun. In addition, it fights wrinkles and helps prevent potentially deadly skin cancers like melanoma.
